Brasilian Eliane Elias is one of the greatest, original jazz pianists ever to play the instrument. A true original, she combines exceptional sensitivity and power, with a deeply swinging approach that crosses all areas of modern jazz. She also plays the great Brasilian bossa novas, along with original songs that she writes. She will be performing with her quartet which features her husband Marc Johnson on bass, Freddie Bryant on guitar, and Satoshi Takeishi on drums.
Ms. Elias has honored us by agreeing to perform at our intimate 80 seat concert center. Normally she only peforms at large venues. This is a very rare opportiunity to hear her quartet "up close and personal". She rarely appears in Southern California!
